Spirits Alive is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of Portland’s historic Eastern Cemetery (1668-1858) through a range of activities including promotion and education.

"The Loved Ones" by Wendell Berry, read among some of the oldest stones in the Eastern Cemetery. In the spirit of this poem, on September 17 at 11:00 we will be honoring long-dead Black residents of Portland.

Our tours continue, every day at 4:00 until mid-October.

Saturday mornings. This stone is near the route of all tours. Tours daily at 4 through mid-October.
