As Pride month begins, save the date for a gathering commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1976 General Convention resolution declaring that LGBTQ+ people have a full and equal claim to the pastoral care and support of The Episcopal Church. The event, “Full and Equal: 50 Years in Pursuit of a Promise,” will celebrate progress and acknowledge the work that remains.

The three-day gathering, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sept. 3-5, will include storytelling coaching, workshops, a banquet, and a Eucharist featuring Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe as presider and Bishop Gene Robinson as preacher. Spanish-language interpretation will be available.

More registration details will follow. Please save the date and help spread the word.

A collect for Trinity Sunday. Today we marvel at the God who spoke light and life into existence, who formed us in the divine image and crowned us with glory and honor. The whole of creation bears witness to the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, whose love and grace are woven into every corner of the cosmos. Jesus sends us out into that same creation with a great commission: to make disciples, to baptize, to teach, and to trust that he is with us always, to the end of the age. - Designed by Summerlee Walter, the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina

In our Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the leadership and congregation of the Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Portland as they near the end of their search for their next dean. And, on this eve of Pride month, we pray also for all LGBTQ+ people struggling for acceptance in their families, workplaces, or anywhere. 🙏🏳️‍🌈

Take Action: https://www.votervoice.net/EPISCOPAL/Campaigns/137722/Respond

The crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women has long been a priority for The Episcopal Church, women’s rights groups, and Indigenous advocates. High levels of violence, including r**e and murder, combined with a lack of resources and legal loopholes, have made justice and accountability too rare. While meaningful legislation has been passed, more must be done.

Episcopal Indigenous leaders have raised this issue, including providing testimony at the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, and they have called on global leaders to take action.

You can do that today by writing your members of Congress to ask them to support the BADGES for Native Communities Act, which will equip Tribal governments and other institutions in Indian country to combat the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
