💛 Why Pittsburgh?
I chose Pittsburgh because I have never stayed up North before and I learned that it had a high concentration of unbelievers that I wanted to reach with the Gospel.

🤩 What are you most excited for?
I am most excited about living up North for 4 weeks and for growing in my relationship with Christ.

🙏 What are you praying for God to do in and through you this summer?
I am praying that he gives me the boldness to reach the lost and to have those tough conversations with the people who need them. I am also praying for more intimacy in my walk with Christ.

Meet Eva Kislowski👋🏻✨

She is our fifth GenSend College Student we’ll be highlighting this month!

💛Why Pittsburgh?
I chose Pittsburgh because I heard about it through Shandon College, and they were saying they needed people to go. At first, I thought, “That’s not for me. I’d never be able to do it,” but after some thought and prayer with our college pastor, Steve Turner, I quickly felt God tugging on my heart more and more to go leverage some of my summer for His glory in Pittsburgh. This calling was confirmed when I felt God lay it on my heart to watch the Steel City Church sermon on YouTube from the Sunday before, and it was on Acts 3–4, which was the exact chapter I had just read the day before. Pastor Chris prayed that we would “accept our call to not just be Jesus-adjacent, but to be formed by Him and not by the world.” It was at that moment I knew I needed to accept my call to go to Pittsburgh in May and June and serve their city, Steel City Church, and God. I knew that the sermon was God confirming my calling to go on this mission. After praying more, I submitted my application and felt God’s presence over me.

🤩What are you most excited for?
I’m so excited to get closer with my team and become like a family while we’re here in Pittsburgh because fellowship is so important, and we’re not meant to do this alone. It’s so important to have people to go through this trip with, to lean on, and to learn from.

🙏What are you praying for God to do in and through you this summer?
In me, I pray that God teaches me more about Himself and His character and grows me in wisdom so that I can go back to Columbia and live missionally there beyond this trip. Through me, I pray that God uses me in any way He wills. I want to walk into every moment on this trip with open hands and so much willingness on the table. I want to give God my yes in every moment, like, “Lord, I’ll be Your hands, feet, and tongue, just use me however You want to increase Your kingdom.” I also pray that Pittsburgh flourishes and that, in its flourishing, His name would be known.

💛Why Pittsburgh?
The reason I chose Pittsburgh was because I knew I wanted to go on a mission trip and Pittsburgh was the one God was leading me too.

🤩What are you most excited for?
I’m most excited getting closer to the people here in Pittsburgh and the team.

🙏What are you praying for God to do in and through you this summer?
What I’m praying for is that God grows me into the person he wants me to be with his dreams and plans for me.

💛Why Pittsburgh?
I have lived in Pennsylvania my whole life so I decided I wanted to serve and be in a church not far from home since I don’t have one in my hometown. I knew God wanted me to go here after a lot of affirmation from others and in my own prayer time. I wanted to experience how the Lord can do great work anywhere we go, especially if we pray for Him to do so.

🤩What are you most excited for?
I’m most excited to serve in the church and see what a church plant is like. I hope to see the Lord moving in the people I meet not because of my words but because of His words through me and my team. I hope to see many people in Pittsburgh come to Christ and to expand the Kingdom of God.

🙏What are you praying for God to do in and through you this summer?
I’m praying for boldness to share the gospel and the confidence from the Holy Spirit that He has given me the wisdom and knowledge I need to do so wherever I go. I also pray for a stronger desire to be intimate with the Lord. I hope to find more clarity on my future job and where I want to go after college.
