The Word tells us that Isaiah prophesied during the reign of king Uzziah. (1:1). But then we read in 6:1 that he had an encounter with the Lord “in the year that Uzziah died.” In other words, Isaiah was prophesying FOR God before he had that experience WITH God. Why is this important? Because we preachers must know that one can preach FOR God without having an intimate relationship WITH Him. One can be saved by grace through faith, but still not know intimacy with God. Relationship is more important than assignment!
