Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community is where you are loved, fed, and affirmed as your whole self, because Jesus welcomes all. OUR VISION
We hope to see wholeness - no more hungry, lonely, hopeless, or homeless in Pittsburgh - and for every person to understand their belovedness. SOME MORE ABOUT US
HMBFC was planted in 2004. We have always been located in the South Side of Pittsburgh. We are connected to both the Presbyterian Church USA and the United Methodist Church. We believe we are an imperfect people coming together to find ways to reflect God's perfect love to the world around us. We believe we find that perfect love expressed fully in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus' greatest command was to love God and love others. We rely on the Holy Spirit to guide, lead, and encourage us in this work of love. We are on an intentional journey toward God through Jesus Christ where we shoulder the burdens, share the risks, and celebrate the joys, of participating in the mission of this community. All are welcome to join God's mission of love as it is expressed here at Hot Metal. We are an affirming congregation and welcome LGBTQ+ folks into all aspects of our church life together.

A flu and covid shot can mean fewer missed work/school days, a milder illness if you do get sick, and a little more protection for the people around you. That’s good for you, and good for your community!

Together with Fishes & Loaves Cooperative Ministries and Giant Eagle Pharmacy, we’re providing FREE flu and covid vaccinations, with or without insurance.

This video from the most recent Pittsburgh Presbytery meeting shares part of the painful history of Hazelwood Presbyterian Church and celebrates the work of Rev. Louwanda Harris while introducing the Honor and Repair process of reparation for Black churches in our Presbytery. Knowing our history is part of knowing who we are, and owning it is part of deciding who we will be.

Loving our neighbors means that we want you to be healthy, happy, and have your needs met. In September, get professional assistance with Medicaid enrollment. In October, stop in for a free flu and/or covid vaccination. Taking care of each other is what community is all about.
