A few weeks back, a group from Bible Center loaded up and drove out to East Liverpool, Ohio and we are still thinking about it.

They went to support Brother Amos Evans, one of our former student members. That is the whole reason. Somebody we love had something going on, so we went.

Thank you to our Transportation Ministry for making a way. You all show up quietly and constantly, and it matters more than you know.

Being the church is mostly this. Going where you said you would go, for people who are counting on you.

We are officially one week out!

When a parent is incarcerated, the children live with it every day. They handle the explaining at school, the visits, the birthdays with somebody missing, and questions from other kids who do not know how to be gentle about it.

Anna E. Hollis has spent her career with those children. She is the Executive Director of Amachi Pittsburgh, and on Thursday she is coming to talk with us about what these families carry and what helps.

These are our families. That is why this is happening at our church.

Simply Worship was simply powerful, simply full, and simply needed.

There is something about a room where everybody came to do the same thing. No agenda past worship, nothing to prove, just people who showed up and gave God what they came to give Him.

Thank you to everyone who led, everyone who played, everyone who set the room up and broke it back down, and everyone who walked in and sang like they meant it.

Simply worship. Simply Him.

Spiritual gifts. Heart. Abilities. Personality. Experiences.

That is SHAPE, and it is how we help members figure out what God actually built them for. Thank you to Brother Bradon and Sister Felicia for facilitating.

A lot of people spend years waiting for somebody to hand them a purpose. SHAPE starts somewhere else. It looks at what you are already good at, what you already care about, and what you have already lived through, and it asks what God is doing with all of it.

Your experiences count. Even the ones you would not have picked.

Earth starts looking more like heaven when people stop sitting on what they were given.

This Saturday is a whole day at Bible Center Church.

Simply Worship at 11. One hour of singing in Simply Worship at 11. One hour of singing in his presence.

Then at noon, head downstairs. Taste of Oasis opens in the Oasis Community Events Center with seven local food businesses, free admission, food to sample and food to buy.

Worship, then a meal together. The early church did it in exactly that order.

Doors at 11 for worship and at noon for food. Bring your people.

3 days out.

Simply Worship is this Saturday.

There is a kind of tired that sleep does not touch. You know the one. You have been handling everything, holding it together, answering everybody who needs something. An hour of worship will not fix your schedule. It will put you back in front of the One holding all of it.

Bring somebody who needs it more than they would ever admit.

There is somebody you have been meaning to text.

You sit near them on Sunday. Or you were in a D Group together, the group ended, and you both said you would stay in touch. You meant it. It has been a few months.

Text them tonight.

Loneliness never announces itself. It just quietly convinces you that everybody else is doing fine and you are the only one struggling to keep up. The fix is almost never dramatic. Usually it is one person who noticed you were not around and said something about it.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Heaven is a place where nobody is alone. We can get a head start on that from right here.

One hour of worship. That is the whole thing.

Simply Worship is next Saturday, October 17, 11 AM to 12 PM.

If it has been a while since you were in a room like this, that is alright. There is no catching up to do and nobody is going to ask you where you have been. Stand in the back if you want. Keep your eyes open. You can just listen.

Worship is the one thing we will still be doing in heaven. We get to start now.

For one hour, we will do what we were created to do. Sing in His presence.
