Need some ❄️SNOW DAY ACTIVITY IDEAS??⛄
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES:
🔹Paint your snow! (Fill a spray bottle with water and food coloring, then spray it onto your snow.)
🔹Shovel snow for your neighbors - maybe the kids can even earn some money doing this!
🔹Make snow cream. (Combine fresh snow, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract - then add sprinkles, chocolate syrup, or chocolate chips for extra fun!)
🔹Go sledding at one of Louisville's sledding hills.
🔹Make ice luminaries using balloons full of water!
🔹Make frozen bubbles with water, corn syrup, sugar, and dish soap.
🔹Coordinate a neighborhood snowball fight! (Send out a text inviting everyone to meet at a nearby park or someone's backyard at a certain time, and don't forget to take some hot chocolate with you!)
🔹Take a "photo walk" to capture pictures of the beautiful snow and ice in your neighborhood.
🔹Deliver handwritten cards to your neighbors who might also be stuck at home. An encouraging card can really brighten someone's day! Drop it in their mailbox or leave it on their front door.
INDOOR ACTIVITIES:
🔸Have a movie marathon, complete with popcorn and cozy blankets.
🔸Make a "prayer chain" by connecting slips of paper, writing a prayer request on each one. Hang it somewhere everyone can see, and remember to pray for your specific requests whenever you look at it!
🔸Bake something! (Any new recipes you have been meaning to try? Ask your neighbor for any ingredients you don't have!)
🔸Build a blanket fort or set up a tent to "go camping" in.
🔸Read the Bible with your kids! Take turns reading different stories (Jonah is always a good option!), letting them read aloud.
🔸Craft projects - bracelet making, diamond painting, crochet, coloring books, make a collage...
🔸Write encouraging cards to people you love.
🔸Hold a spelling bee or trivia competition in your living room.
🔸Listen to a podcast together! ("The Bible Recap for Kids", "Nature Guys", "Wow in the World", "But Why", "Molly of Denali", "Brains On!", and "The Past and the Curious" are some good ones!)
🔸Play cards and board games. You could keep track of who wins each one, and give out awards or prizes at the end!
🔸Read those books on your shelf - the ones you never have time to finish!
🔸De-clutter your closet or another area you've been meaning to clean. (Not the most fun activity, but you'll feel very accomplished afterward!)
