Immanuel United Church of Christ

Immanuel United Church of Christ No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here. God is still speaking and we are still listening!

Join us for Sunday worship at 10:45! Immanuel UCC is united in:

Community –In all that we do we provide a safe, encouraging environment in which we embrace and value all persons as they are and as they strive to be, and share Christ’s warmth, joy, love and acceptance in times of need and celebration. Discipling – In all that we do, through worship, music, study and prayer, we share the words and

works of God with each other and those around us in order to strengthen individual faith and to make the world a better place. Mission – In all that we do we are compelled to make sacred through Christ the gifts, talents and resources, individual and collective, of the congregation to assist others in hopes of improving their spiritual and physical lives. Y'all. We helped make this happen! You can be very proud that we're a part of CLOUT: Citizens of Louisville Organized and United Together, and together with other congregations have helped make Louisville a bit safer and more welcoming for those with mental health crises. It's so exciting to see this hard work bear fruit!

The Divine Departure Series
A 3-Part Journey to Prepare for the End of Life with Peace, Clarity, and Care

Talking about end-of-life planning can feel uncomfortable, but preparing ahead is one of the greatest gifts we can give to the people we love. The Divine Departure Series is designed to help us understand the process, organize important details, and make sure our wishes are known—so our loved ones are not left guessing.

Session 1: June 28th — Understanding the Essentials
Join us as we welcome Rev. Sam Jewell, a Norton chaplain, and attorney Hollyn Richardson for a conversation about end-of-life planning. They will explain important terms, forms, procedures, and the key people we need in place to ensure our affairs are in order when the time comes.

Session 2: July 26th — Leaving a Legacy of Love and Generosity
Our speakers will return, joined by Mike Schultz, to discuss ways we can continue supporting our church and charitable organizations after we are gone. We will also provide important planning forms and resources to help you begin putting your wishes in writing.

Session 3: August 30th — Planning Your Final Celebration
This session will focus on funeral and memorial planning. We will provide resources to help you record your wishes and create copies to share with your family and church, ensuring that your loved ones know how you would like to be remembered.

Everyone is invited—bring a friend!

While conversations about death can be difficult, planning ahead is an act of love. Join us as we prepare with compassion, faith, and care, giving our families the peace of knowing our wishes and making the journey easier for those who will walk alongside us.

Families with kiddos come experience our Prayerground!!
You may ask, "What is a Prayerground?" A PrayerGround or prayground (whichever term suits you) is an intentional space within an established sanctuary or worship area created with the experiential needs of children in mind (littles & elementary school). The goal of this space and all that it contains is for kids to use it to experience and participate fully in worship alongside their congregational family, while expressing worship and prayer in a uniquely childlike way. Simply, it’s a space for young children to be themselves and be part of the church at the same time.
