Pastors Mike & Ruth Ward On February 16, 1997, the first service of New Birth was held in the home of Pastor Mike with 20 adults and children attending.

Nine people made verbal commitments to the church. It was at this initial service that Pastor Mike laid out the vision God had imparted to him. It began with no denominational financial support or affiliation. But, it did begin with a heart for the people and a love for the word of God. Over the next seven years, New Birth worshipped in various elementary schools in the city, until the building wa

s complete. Pastor designed the lay-out for the first building on a napkin, and his vision from the napkin went into reality on March 16, 2003, when we walked into the building.
