Though immediate preparation is given to children before receiving the Sacraments, children are expected to receive a Catholic upbringing in their family and have formal religious education classes. Saint Joseph's Religious Education Program holds classes for children in grades 1 -9. The Tuesday classes (4:00-5:15) are run as a Family Program meaning a parent, grandparent or other adult is require
d to stay during 7 in person sessions. Outside of the 7 in person sessions the lessons are done at home on your own schedule, needing only to submit a weekly assignment. Our students make their First Penance and First Communion in the second grade. First grade is required in order to receive in the second. Confirmation students are confirmed in the 9th grade as l long as the child has completed the previous years of Religious Education. Religious Education does not end with the sacraments, it is an ongoing experience and one that we pray will last until their adult years.
