We are serving with Agape Pamoja this Saturday from 9 AM - 2 PM. Anyone interested in helping can sign up!

Agape Pamoja is an organization dedicated to housing and serving refugees in the Kansas City area. Agape is the Greek word for “love”. Pamoja is the Swahili word for “community” or “doing things together”. The purpose of Agape Pamoja is to help serve the multi-faceted needs of refugees from war-torn countries residing in Kansas City by providing housing assistance, educational support, food, clothing, community involvement, leadership development, and other aid while intentionally doing life together.

We’ll be helping remodel a Blessing House so come prepared to do a lot of painting both inside and outside! Sign up below for full details 👇

Join us at Midtown Church every Sunday at 10:30 AM. We gather weekly at the Delta Athenaeum: 900 E Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108 ⛪️

Each weekend, we come together around the things the Church has always gathered around: prayer, scripture, song, bread, and cup. In doing so, we learn what it means to live as citizens of His Kingdom.
Kids are always welcome in the Gathering.

Childcare is available for children under eight years old, and older kids are invited to join their families in the main gathering.

God does not need our confession. We need confession.

We need to reflect on things we have done and left undone.
We need something to break through our patterns of self-deception.
We need a radical self-knowledge.
We need to be reminded of where our value lies, of who makes us great.
We need to be reminded of the image for whom we bear. The sacrifice of Jesus, the advocate we have in Him, the forgiveness of our sins and the forgiving nature of our God.

We need to be reminded that God has already seen all of us and has never stopped loving us.

How do we embrace a humility that engages in radical self-knowledge but also self-love that comes from God?

Through confession. Not as a way of dwelling in shame, but as a way of bringing our whole selves into the light and remembering that we are both sinners and beloved children of God.

We spend so much of our lives striving for independence, working to build a life where we no longer have to rely on others. But this desire to be self-sufficient can pull us further from the life we long for and the love God offers. What if the path to a fuller life begins not with proving ourselves, but with learning to receive God’s love like a child?

In our new teaching series, The Path to Humility, we’re exploring the virtues that shape us into everyday saints. We begin with humility and its corresponding vice, pride, and the invitation to rediscover what it means to become like a child.
