Join AMO and Aqsa Masjid for a special community conversation with Shaykh Asif Hirani as we explore:

Islam, Sexuality, and Postmodernism

πŸ“… Friday, September 18
πŸ•˜ After Isha | 9:00 PM
πŸ“ Aqsa Masjid
2810 Saddlehorn Trail, Katy, TX 77494
🍽️ Food vendors will be available!

Our children are growing up in a world where ideas about identity, sexuality, morality, and personal freedom are constantly evolving.

How do we navigate these conversations without compromising our Islamic principles?

How can parents understand the ideas their children are encountering at school, online, and in the wider culture β€” and respond with knowledge, confidence, compassion, and clarity?

Join us for an important conversation with Shaykh Asif Hirani as we explore the challenges of raising and guiding Muslim families in a postmodern world, and how our Islamic tradition can help us approach difficult questions with wisdom, conviction, and compassion.

Come for the conversation, stay for the community β€” and enjoy food from local vendors!

If only it were that simple.

When feelings are real, how do we navigate them with faith, clarity, and boundaries?

Whether you’re in school, college, the workplace, community spaces, or thinking seriously about marriage, feelings, attraction, and relationship questions are part of life. The question is not whether they happen β€” but how we respond to them in a way that keeps us grounded in Islam.

Join us for Keeping It Halal with Shaykh Asif Hirani for a timely conversation on crushes, attraction, relationships, and keeping it halal.

Gender Roles/Wars: What Does Islam Say?

Conversations around men, women, marriage, and gender roles have become increasingly polarized.

On one side, movements like modern feminism have emerged in response to real experiences of inequality and mistreatment. On the other, the rise of the red pill/manosphere has often been a reaction to frustrations many men feel about modern relationships and expectations.

But when these conversations become a battle between men and women, where does that leave us as Muslims?

Islam does not ask us to simply adopt one side of the culture war. It gives us its own framework β€” one rooted in justice, responsibility, mercy, rights, and accountability before Allah ο·».

Come for a thoughtful conversation on masculinity, femininity, marriage, expectations, and how Muslims can navigate today's competing narratives without losing the balance and guidance of Islam.

We joined fellow community organizations at the Houston Food Bank to help prepare essential food and household items for individuals and families facing food insecurity.

Working together in the warehouse, volunteers sorted donations, organized supplies, and participated in an assembly line to package and seal boxes that will be distributed to those in need. Through collaboration and service, every volunteer played an important role in supporting the Houston Food Bank’s mission of providing relief to our community.
