A message from Fr. Ben…

My good friend Fr. Richard Saksons O. Praem., an English Norbertine, died yesterday, 11 September, 2026, after a long illness. Fr. Richard was just 66 years old. We were friends since our student days in Rome where I would go to his room for afternoon tea and he would come to my room in the evening for an Irish drink that was considerable stronger. Fr. Richard, a convert to the Catholic Faith, was ordained priest on 3rd March 1992. He preached the homily at my First Mass in Dublin. I had a premenition of his passing as yeareday I e mailed the Abbot of his community asking about him as I had not heard from him for over two weeks. This morning I received the news that he had dies yesteday. Please pray for the repose of his soul. Fr. Richard was a great preist, a wonderful friend, and just an honorable and good man. I will miss him so much we e-mailed each other almost every week.

Labor Day Blessing
Dear God,
We thank You for this Labor Day. Bless the men and women who serve in our workforce, and grant them strength and protection in their work. Bless, too, those who courageously seek to build fairer and more just working environments for all our brothers and sisters. Bless all of us as we gather to rest and recreate during this holiday weekend.
