The Discalced Carmelite Servants of Mercy

The Discalced Carmelite Servants of Mercy The Discalced Carmlite Servants of Mercy -Disciples of the Most Blessed Sacrament Michael Stephen, Bro. Andrew Dominc, Bro. Patrick Francis and Bro.

Our congregation was founded in 1987 at the Abbey of the Good Samaritan in Valley Springs, CA by Bro. Anthony Francis. The Order observes a Rule which derives from the Carmelite Rule of St. Albert of Jersusalem and the Rule of the Ancient Observance of St. Teresa of Avila. We express our charism specifically in devotion to Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament and extending the Seven Corporal and

Spiritual Acts of Mercy to those God sends us to minister to. We wear a traditional habit and are both Contemplative and Active.

11/24/2013

Today, 11/24/2013, is the Last Sunday of Pentecost and also the Feast of St. John of the Cross, Confessor and Doctor. Priests of the order are dispensed from the Canon of only celebrating one Mass and are permitted to binate (Celebrate two Masses). One Is the observance of the Last Sunday of Pentecost and the second in honor of St. John of the Cross who assisted St. Teresa of Avila in reform of the Carmelite Order. This dispensation applies only to priests of the Order. The Mass in honor of St. John of the Cross may not take the place of the principle Mass of Sunday. The faithful who attend both Masses may receive Holy Communion at both Masses. +Archbishop Michael Pangan, ocdsm, S.T.D., S. T.L.

The statue of our beloved Infant Jesus of Prague which currently stands above the altar of the Priory chapel. If it is His will that we acquire the facilities we are considering, He will be enthroned above the Main altar of the Cathedral Church of the Infant of Prague. His image will be flanked on either side by a statue of Our Lady of Victory and St. Anthony of Padua symbolizing the actual church where the original statue of our Divine King is located in the care of the Discalced Carmelite Friars and Carmelite Sisters of the Child Jesus.

To mark the beginning of our fund raising event, we would like to invite you to visit our “Buy A Brick” page and to also visit our entire site. You may click on the following link which will take you to our site: http://torcc.org.

Our first fund raiser of 2013 seeks to raise additional funds for property located in the state of Maine. With your help, we can get closer to reaching this goal. We are looking at two facilities. One will serve as the Cathedral Church. The second location will serve as a location for our seminary.

At the present time, the Church functions in the United States, Singapore and the Far East, Africa and South America. Our ability to continue our ministry relies tremendously on the generosity of our friends and benefactors.

We want to assure all of you of our prayers and thanks for your prayers and material support over the years and assure you of our continued prayers and thanks.

Sincerely in Christ,

Your prayers and assistance are asked for the acquisition of facilities in Cincinnati. The property, currently known as the Nagle Mansion, would be the new home for the American Traditional Catholic Church/Traditional Old Roman Catholic Church and Motherhouse for the Discalced Carmelite Servants of Mercy – Disciples of the Blessed Sacrament. The mansion was built in 1863 by Henry Nagle, one of the founding families of Cincinnati, Ohio and founder of Brighton Flour Mill which is still in operation. The mansion is situated on 3 acres of land which will provide not only room for construction of our Chapel, Retreat House and Seminary dormitory but will also provide sufficient land for vegetable gardens and meditation/memorial gardens. The Mansion itself will provide housing for 15 clergy as well as a chapel, parlor, office and refectory.

We are seeking donors who would be willing to donate an engraved brick not only for themselves but as gifts for family and friends. The engraved bricks will be used to replace walkways and create meditation areas around the property. The engraved bricks range in size from the standard 3” x 8” to as large as 3’ x 4’ memorials. Bricks can be engraved with or without a graphic image. You may choose from a cross, dove or praying hands or choose no graphic for your brick. The bricks are engraved using state of the art laser technology. This will insure strength and durability for many years to come. Bricks are available in various sizes and combinations of sizes. We will also guarantee the donated bricks against damage or loss and will replace at no cost any brick that is damaged for life. Donations can be made through a secure server by Debit/Credit Card, Electronic Check (personal or business) through PayPal© or by mail via personal/business check. The American Traditional Catholic Church/Traditional Old Roman Catholic Church is a non-profit Domestic Corporation and an IRS approved 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Donations received are non-taxable, donors will be issued a receipt for their donation for tax purposes. All donors will be invited to attend a Concelebrated dedication Mass and reception at the time the property is acquired.

The Discalced Carmelite Servants of Mercy - Disciples of the Blessed Sacrament seek men and women who wish to express their vocation to serve Our Lord and Our Lady as Friars, Brothers and Nuns. Our charism is expressed in providing the Seven Corporal and Spiritual Acts of Mercy to God's people as nurses, social workers, psychologists and teachers. We are dedicated to Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament We observe a rule which draws from the Rule of St. Albert of Jerusalem and the Rule of the Reform of St. Teresa of Avila. We wear a traditional habit and pray the Divine Office both as individuals and in community. We presently serve in the United States and Africa with a foundation forming in South America and the Far East. As with many Religious Orders, we hold to the motto, “Labora et ora” – we “Work and Pray”. As Carmelites, we welcome our Carmelite brethren as brethren – we are “Carmelite first”. Like Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, we maintain, “It is not how much one does. It is how much love we do it with.” We are especially seeking women to be the “forerunners” of our Nuns and sisters and establish them within the Order to serve in in all areas where the Traditional Old Roman Catholic Church is found: Cincinnati, Denver, Singapore, the Philippines, Cameroun and Rio de Janiero with the intent of working side-by-side with the clergy of the Traditional Old Roman Catholic Church located in those areas.

If you feel that God is calling you to serve him as a Discalced Carmelite, please contact our Bishop, +Archbishop Michael Pangan, directly at [email protected]. May God bless you and may Our Lady of Mt. Carmel be your joy!
