The Discalced Carmelite Servants of Mercy - Disciples of the Blessed Sacrament seek men and women who wish to express their vocation to serve Our Lord and Our Lady as Friars, Brothers and Nuns. Our charism is expressed in providing the Seven Corporal and Spiritual Acts of Mercy to God's people as nurses, social workers, psychologists and teachers. We are dedicated to Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament We observe a rule which draws from the Rule of St. Albert of Jerusalem and the Rule of the Reform of St. Teresa of Avila. We wear a traditional habit and pray the Divine Office both as individuals and in community. We presently serve in the United States and Africa with a foundation forming in South America and the Far East. As with many Religious Orders, we hold to the motto, “Labora et ora” – we “Work and Pray”. As Carmelites, we welcome our Carmelite brethren as brethren – we are “Carmelite first”. Like Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, we maintain, “It is not how much one does. It is how much love we do it with.” We are especially seeking women to be the “forerunners” of our Nuns and sisters and establish them within the Order to serve in in all areas where the Traditional Old Roman Catholic Church is found: Cincinnati, Denver, Singapore, the Philippines, Cameroun and Rio de Janiero with the intent of working side-by-side with the clergy of the Traditional Old Roman Catholic Church located in those areas.
If you feel that God is calling you to serve him as a Discalced Carmelite, please contact our Bishop, +Archbishop Michael Pangan, directly at [email protected]. May God bless you and may Our Lady of Mt. Carmel be your joy!
