What happens when God’s covenant people fail to live like God’s covenant people?

This Wednesday, Story Bible Study continues our exploration of covenant. We’ll follow the story from Israel’s unfaithfulness and exile into the prophets’ extraordinary promise: God has not abandoned the covenant—or the people who broke it.

We’ll explore what Jeremiah meant by a “new covenant,” how Jesus understood his death within Israel’s covenant story, and how the Spirit forms a renewed people capable of embodying God’s justice, mercy, and faithfulness.

You’re welcome whether or not you attended our first session.

A little bit of a long-shot ask for our local friends:

Our church’s commercial freezer died last week. It’s the freezer we use to store food for our monthly Community Dinners and other events where we feed folks in our neighborhood.

We had a repair technician come take a look at it, and when I asked about replacing the compressor, he basically laughed. 😂 Apparently our trusty old Beverage-Air has lived a very, very full life.

So - we’re looking for a replacement commercial freezer.

Before we start shopping the normal routes, I thought I’d put some feelers out into the community. Does anyone have connections with a restaurant, caterer, food-service company, school, church, nonprofit, equipment dealer, etc. that might have a good used commercial freezer they’re looking to sell or donate? Or know someone who might be able to point us in the right direction?

We’re just starting to figure out what replacement is going to cost, so at this point I’m mostly collecting leads and possibilities.
