What you missed if you weren’t at St. John’s May 3: a forum on Personal Actions to Protect the Planet, our annual flower communion, in which we take home a flower someone else brought to remind us of our diverse beauty, and the raising of the Maypole to welcome spring. But May 10 we’ll be at First Unitarian Church, so please join us there.

Dear St. John's Members, Friends, and Visitors,

Our Search Committee is delighted to present to you St. John's next minister, Rev. Karen Madrone. Rev. Karen will join us on August 1 and be with us though our developmental ministry.

Here are her bio and picture. Let us know if you have any questions.

Rev. Karen Madrone is excited to begin serving St. John's UU in August as our developmental minister!

She became a UU at her home church in Greensboro, NC, (UUCG) in 2006. During UUCG's time of transition from a settled minister, interim, developmental and now a very successful settled ministry, she realized she was called to be a UU minister and to help congregations through their own transitions.

Rev. Karen attended seminary at Union Theological Seminary in New York City, graduating in May 2019, and was ordained at UUCG in June 2019. She served a congregation in Cottonwood Heights, UT, followed by serving in Decatur, IL.

Rev. Karen currently serves the UU Church of Farmington Hills, MI. Rev. Karen and her wife Michelle share their home with their dog Letty, a foxhound, and Don, a cornsnake. They love birding, hiking, and biking. They are looking forward to exploring Cincinnati!

With Joy,

Alanna, Amy, Greg, Melissa, Monica - Your Search Committee
