The national House of Bishops, which held its latest meeting from Oct. 5-9 in Niagara Falls, Ont., is a biannual gathering for bishops of the Anglican Church of Canada to meet as colleagues and offer mutual support for episcopal ministry.

As Anglican bishops from across Canada gathered at the Mount Carmel Spiritual Centre in Niagara Falls, Ont. from Oct. 5-9 for the latest meeting of the House of Bishops, they sought to open a window for the wider church into what happens at the biannual assembly.

Prayer should be treated as a significant moment, "powerful enough to change our view of all that is before us in life and faith," writes Archbishop Chris Harper, Presiding Elder of Sacred Circle, in his latest column.

We live in uncertain times, and it is often a struggle to keep abreast of all that is changing in the life and times around us.

Anglicans can mark National Indigenous Veterans Day, Nov. 8, by mentioning Indigenous veterans in the prayers of the people or asking Indigenous veterans if they would like to speak at a service, says military chaplain.

As some clergy pledge never to use generative artificial intelligence (AI) in writing sermons, and others view AI as just another tool for preaching, Anglicans debate where to draw the line.

Use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in writing sermons has sparked a wide range of responses among Anglican clergy, from enthusiastic embrace of the technology to pledges totally opposing its use.

As Canada marks the 150th anniversary of the signing of Treaty 6 this year, Archbishop Chris Harper reflects on the fragility of human covenants and the enduring faithfulness of God’s promises.

“Standing on the Promises of Christ, My King” is one of my mother’s favorite hymns. She often asks me to sing it to her when I’m playing the guitar. The testimony of the song is that God is always faithful in promises and covenants.
