Message from Deacon Michael Berlin-Riga.

It is an honour and a joy for me to begin serving as a deacon at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica. I have been a seminarian at St. Augustine’s Seminary for ten years.

On September 26th, 2026, I was ordained to the transitional Diaconate for the Archdiocese of Toronto. I look forward to serving all parishioners, visitors, and pilgrims who come from near and far, to the mother Church of this beautiful archdiocese.

May this Cathedral continue to be a strong spiritual household for the family of God to gather as one and be a safe harbour for many pilgrims of hope to encounter Christ. May St. Michael the Archangel, assist us by his prayers in our daily struggle to avoid sin and to be faithful to Christ in holiness of life.
