Toronto Buddha's Light International Association, Young Adult Division (Toronto BLIA YAD) Feel free to come and visit Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto!

BLIA-YAD is the abbreviated form of the Buddha's Light International Association—Young Adult Division, and we are part of a greater global Buddhist organization called Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA). BLIA-YAD Toronto group was officially founded in 2001, and currently there are over 50 different groups worldwide.

BLIA-YAD is a group of youths who are not necessarily Buddhists, but have an interest in learning more about Buddhism and life. Through organizing various activities and events, BLIA-YAD is actively involved in both promoting the teachings of Buddha and the fellowship among young people of today. Our YAD group is divided into two groups:
YAD in Society (recent graduates and working individuals)
YAD in Schooling (high school and post-secondary students)

Youth aged 14-35 can join one of our two YAD groups. If you are looking to learn about Buddhism, find volunteering opportunities, gain experience in event organization and leadership, and get to know positive people – then YAD is the group you're looking for!

What an incredible three days! 🎉

🙌 30 volunteers from YAD, Scouts, the Lion Dance Team, and the English Dharma Class

With brand-new themes, fresh programs, endless smiles, and unforgettable memories, this year’s Three Acts of Goodness Summer Camp was filled with joy, learning, and teamwork from beginning to end.

Thank you to everyone who made it possible, we can’t wait to do it all again next year! ❤️

☀️ Toronto YAD is actively preparing for our 2026 Children’s Summer Camp!

This year’s theme, “Little Bodhisattvas, Light Up the World! ✨”, will bring together learning, friendship, and fun for an unforgettable summer experience. During our volunteer training, we also invited CPR-certified Molly Mao to share a mini session on “How to Deal with Emergencies”, helping us better prepare for unexpected situations and create a safer environment for all campers. ❤️

There are only a few spots left! If this sounds like something your child would enjoy, be sure to register ASAP! 🌟

Big news from Toronto YAD! 🌳👀 We’re in the process of adopting a park with the City! That means future park cleanups, community service, fresh air, and probably a few unexpected treasures found along the way. 😆 We’re excited to bring compassion off the cushion and into the community, stay tuned for our cleanup adventures! 💚✨
