As the Breede Valley Municipality (BVM), we would like to assure residents that although some areas may experience brown or discoloured water due to sediment movement during the restoration process.

As a precautionary measure, residents are encouraged to boil tap water before drinking, cooking, or preparing food. Our laboratory team continues to conduct ongoing water quality testing and monitoring to ensure that the water complies with all required safety standards for public consumption.

Our team is also in the process of scouring the water system at various fire hydrants to help clear the discolouration and improve water clarity across affected areas. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate the patience, cooperation, and understanding of residents while restoration work continues.
