In preparation for Pentecost 2026, the Young People in Christ of the Worcester District gathered for an uplifting and interactive catch-up session under the theme, โActive and Alive in the Spirit,โ at Worcester South congregation on Monday, 18 May 2026.
The evening commenced with an opening prayer and introductory thoughts by District Rector Colin Andrews, who encouraged the young people to remain steadfast in their faith and open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He then introduced the presenter for the evening, Priest Alwyn Williams.
Using Romans 8:16 as the foundation for the discussion โThe Holy Spirit speaks to our spirit and tells us that we are God's childrenโ, Priest Williams led the audience into a meaningful exploration of the work and activity of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers today.
The programme was presented in a lively and engaging manner, beginning with an interesting ice-breaker that immediately drew the young people into the discussion. Through practical examples and relatable experiences, the presenter highlighted how the Holy Spirit continues to guide, strengthen and inspire Godโs children in their daily lives.
Interactive group discussions followed, during which the young people participated enthusiastically alongside ministers who were also in attendance. The atmosphere was warm and spiritually enriching as attendees openly shared their thoughts and experiences.
Priest Williams also briefly introduced the biography of the new Chief Apostle, Helge Mutschler, who will be ordained during the Pentecost divine service on Sunday, 24 May 2026.
The evening concluded with several powerful take-home messages:
* We do not have to fear the future
* We do not have to be afraid to stand up for our faith
* We can trust in Godโs perfect plan for our lives
The session served as a timely reminder that when we truly believe, the Holy Spirit grants us courage, strength and faith to live boldly for Christ and remain active and alive in the Spirit.
