Christmas time usually offers many opportunities to share the gospel and we should make use of every one. Why did He come to earth, why did He have to die…? At Christmas we celebrate our Servant King who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, as the song tells “From heaven you came helpless babe
Entered our world, your glory veiled
Not to be served but to serve
And give Your life that we might live”

For the past few months we have been encouraged by the epistle of 1 Peter that encouraged the believers in biblical times that were suffering for their faith, which is so relevant to believers today. Please join us for the last sermon in this series.

As we are studying the epistle of 1 Peter, God reminds us that as true Christians, we are not of this world - we are foreigners, sojourners, in exile, strangers… As believers we often succumb to this feeling of loneliness and being ‘left out’ and we may even yearn for the temporary pleasures that this world offers. Peter encourages us to stand firm through the trials, for we have a Living Hope in Christ through whom we receive the salvation of our souls and the promise of eternal life. So, as the Psalmist says, “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!”

As the new year starts, we may feel unsure, unmotivated and maybe even unrested after the holidays. Hebrews 12 encourages us to continue this race, with perseverance, with our eyes focused on our Savior. So let us get up, strengthen ourselves through His Word and start the race afresh in 2025! Keep on keeping on.
