"FRIENDSHIP SERVICE"

"The saving effect of the sacraments"

The first Sunday of September witnessed the fundamental principles of the gospel. The morning Divine Service was conducted by the Rector CEV Evangelist Glenvor Thomas Snipper on, 6 September 2026.

The friendship divine service was based on the Bible text 1 John 5:8 (NKJV), which says;

"And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one."

During the service Priest Thandi Isaacs was called up to serve along.

The divine Sonship of Jesus Christ is acknowledged by God the Father. The Spirit, the water, and the blood point to the saving effect of the sacraments administered in the church of Christ. The sacraments are necessary for obtaining salvation in its fulness.

Message:

We receive salvation in Christ visibly by receiving the sacraments.

The service concluded with the members joining in having fellowship with a friend, enjoying together a little snack refreshment.

"Fear not!"

On Wednesday evening, 02 September 2026 the midweek Divine Service was officiated by the Rector CEV Evangelist Glenvor Thomas Snipper.

The service was based on the Bible text Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV), which says;

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

Message:

God responds to human fear with His comforting presence.

The Divine Service concluded with the Rector greeting those who had time.

"Teaching Encouraging. Building Faith Together."

The ministers of Capricorn Congregation was called chosen and equipped to serve God's children by conducting a Sunday School lesson on 30 August 2026.

"Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God." Mark 10:14 (NKJV)

"Respecting and preserving life"

On the fifth and last Sunday of August, the morning Divine Service promoted the Ten commandments, conducted by the Rector CEV Evangelist Glenvor Thomas Snipper on 30 August 2026.

You shall not murder. Exodus 20:13 (NKJV)

During the Divine Service the Priest Gerald Kammies was called up to serve along.

The Fifth Commandment serves to protect human life. Jesus Christ expands on the meaning of this
commandment: violence already has its roots in anger and hatred, which are themselves violations of God’s will.
We are called upon to respect, protect, and promote life. Even if we at times fail in our endeavour to follow God’s commandments,
the following applies to the humble: His mercy is greater than our imperfection.

The service concluded with an announcement of the upcoming friendship service followed by the ministers greeting the congregation a blessed Sunday further.

"Faith in weakness"

The midweek Divine Service was conducted by the Priest Levona De B**r on Wednesday evening, 26 August 2026.

The service was based on the Bible text Luke 17:5–6 (NKJV), which says;

'And the Apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”

True faith relies on God’s power, not human strength. Even weak faith can overcome the impossible through trust in God. Even seemingly insignificant acts of faith can bring about change
in suffering and in relationships.

Message:
Trust in God can make the impossible possible.

The Divine Service came to a close with the Priest talking time to greet the members.

"Valuing one another"

On the fourth Sunday of August, the morning Divine Service was conducted by Priest Joseph Fritz teaching the ten commandments on 14 August 2026.

The service was based on the Bible text, Exodus 20:12 (excerpt) NKJV, which says;

"Honour your father and your mother."

During the service the Priest Nelson Mpumlo was called up to the altar and served the congregation.

Message

God is pleased when parents and children have a good relationship with one another.

The service concluded with the ministers greeting the congregation.

"I will certainly be with you"

On Wednesday evening, 19 August 2026 the Congregation of Capricorn Park was blessed to have the District Rector, Priest Andre Lamprecht conduct the midweek Divine Service.

The service was based on the Bible text, Exodus 3:11–12 (excerpt) NKJV

'But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” So He said, “I will certainly be with you.”

This evening God says to us, “I will certainly be with you”—both in everyday life and especially in “desert seasons”. The name of God reveals His faithfulness: “I am here.” He is a God who accompanies us and cares for us. God calls us by name: we are His beloved children. And we want to be with Him as well.

Our response: "I want to be with You!"

Message:

God’s presence and love motivate us to remain with Him.

The congregation sang together the after service hymn 90- I will never cease to love You.

The District Rector took time to greet the congregants who had time.

"MODERN SAMARITAN"

Caring2Gether

The Young 🌱 People of Capricorn Congregation met for the extension of the Dare2Care initiative with a catch up discussion on 17 August 2026.

The young people's leader Deacon Lehana Witbooi presented tonight's topic of caring together and being a modern day samiritan. The ancient parable of the Good Samaritan challenges us to look closely at our daily choices.

Being a modern Samaritan means choosing active empathy, crossing social divides, and helping those in need—even when it is inconvenient or uncomfortable. For young people, this involves translating ancient values of kindness into modern action, navigating digital spaces, and challenging peer norms that encourage standing by.

Becoming a modern Samaritan starts with small, intentional shifts in your daily routine.

Look Up: Notice the people around you who are isolated, stressed, or sitting alone.

Speak Up: Interrupt gossip and online negativity immediately rather than watching silently.

Show Up: Volunteer locally, support community spaces, and give your time to causes that matter.

Tonight's discussion challenges young people to be more positive and genuine.

The meeting came to close with the Rector, Glenvor Snipper ending off in prayer

See you at the next one!!
