Bible text: Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."

Message
God thinks about us and gives us a future and hope

Summary
▪️God thinks about each person personally and lovingly
▪️His thoughts are thoughts of peace
▪️God not only grants us a future here in this world, but even goes beyond that to promise us eternal fellowship with Himself.
▪️The hope that God gives us, strengthens us today and gives us courage in all
circumstances.

On Wednesday evening (20 May 2026), the congregation of Strand Gustrouw was served by District Apostle Elie Taty Mukinda from Congo West.
Our priest Dido Kazadi (from the Maitland congregation) did the translation from English to French.

The bible text used was:
2 Timothy 1:14.
Taking care of our faith

Message
With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can take good care of our faith.

On Sunday, 17 May 2026 our Divine Service were conducted by our rector Cev Arthur Dick and priest Kazadi served along.

Called to-bear witness

Bible text: Acts 1:8
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Message
Let us bear witness to Jesus Christ.

Summary
▪️The power of the Holy Spirit is divine empowerment that transforms fearful disciples into enthusiastic missionaries.
▪️The calling of the disciples to bear witness to Jesus remains valid for all generations. It is based on an encounter with Jesus and is expressed in words and deeds.

After the Service, a presentation were presented to our congregation as part of our PENTECOST PREPARATION, followed by fellowship for all to enjoy.

Our District rector, Heinrich Benjamin, served our congregation tonight (06 May 2026), and the bible text used was:
Luke 22 : 28-29
"But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials. And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me."

The Divine Service was captured under the heading :
Remaining faithful in trials

The message:
The Lord gives the kingdom to those who remain faithful to Him in trials.

Summary:
• Those who follow Christ will be tempted just as He was
• Determined to remain faithful to Him, we can count on His support.
• Christ has won the victory for us
• He allows us to share in His merit and glory

After the Divine Service a cup of warm soup was enjoyed in fellowship with one another.
