*10 Day Teaching Series - God Wants You Well*
*Day 1: God's Will Is Healing*
*Main Verse*
3 John 2 (NKJV)
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
*Main Teaching*
Many Christians wonder whether healing is God's will for them. The Bible begins to answer that question clearly in this verse. God desires His people to prosper and be in health. Healing is not something God is reluctant to give; it is part of His loving heart toward His children. Throughout Scripture we see God revealing Himself as a healer. His nature does not change. If He was willing to heal in the Old Testament and during Jesus' ministry, He is willing today. Jesus perfectly represented the Father. He said that whoever had seen Him had seen the Father (John 14:9). Therefore, when we study Jesus' ministry, we discover God's attitude toward sickness and disease. Jesus never refused a person who came to Him in faith seeking healing. He never told someone that sickness was God's way of teaching them a lesson. Instead, He healed them and demonstrated God's compassion. Faith begins where the will of God is known. If we are uncertain whether God wants us healed, it becomes difficult to believe for healing. God's Word removes uncertainty and reveals His desire for wholeness. Healing is not based on God's willingness; it is based on our understanding and receiving what He has already provided through Christ.
