A huge THANK YOU to our incredible volunteers for bringing our Angel Trees to life! 🎄✨ The trees are now up and ready for you to adopt an Angel and make a difference in a child’s Christmas. Visit any of our three locations (Reception Narthex in Memorial Auditorium, 5th Street Narthex, or the East Building entrance), choose your Angel(s), and sign them out. All gifts are due back to the church by December 2. Want to spread even more joy? Join us for our gift-wrapping party on December 6 from 3:00–5:00PM! Let’s share the love and make this season brighter together. ❤️

This morning at our 11:00AM worship service, we gathered as a church family to commission our Western North Carolina Mission Team. As they prepare to travel to Jefferson and help rebuild homes after Hurricane Helene, we send them with our prayers, love, and support. May God guide their hands and hearts as they share hope and compassion with those in need. Join us in lifting them up as they go forth to be the hands and feet of Christ!

This Sunday, we continue in our sermon series "Questions Jesus Asked" with Rev. "Willis" Greene sharing her sermon "Who Touched Me?" with inspiration from Mark 5:21-24.

“Who touched me?” Jesus asked as he and his disciples were surrounded by throngs of people. I imagine the disciples were thinking, “Jesus, you’ve got to be kidding!” With crowds pressing in from every side and hundreds of hands reaching for him, he still wants to know who touched him. His question shows how much Jesus longs to see and know each one of us, not as faces in a crowd but as people he loves. Join us this Sunday as we continue our series on the questions Jesus asked and discover what this unusual question tells us about the heart of Jesus.

Welcome to a new episode of "The Mulberry Tree" podcast as guest host Rev. Oliver Helsabeck, Associate Minister for Congregational Care, welcomes talks with Dr. Ed Shaw, a physician, mental health counselor, and dementia care specialist about strategies and impacts for maintaining a healthy brain at any age. Dr. Shaw founded the Memory Counseling Program that serves people impacted by dementia and Alzheimer’s disease as part of the Sticht Center at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem. Dr. Shaw will present a program this Sunday, October 18 at 5:00 p.m. in Memorial Auditorium titled “Anchored in Love: Thriving as We Age with a Healthy Brain, Body, and Spirit.” The program is open to the public and is co-sponsored by Shining Light on Mental Health and Stephen Ministry.

This Sunday, we return to our sermon series "Questions Jesus Asked" with Rev. "Willis" Greene sharing her sermon "If You Love Those Who Love You, What Credit is that to You? " with inspiration from Luke 6:27-36

If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Jesus asks this question to a crowd filled with strangers and rivals, people who didn't always get along. He has just told them to love their enemies. What kind of Savior asks us to love the very people we would rather avoid? It's a question many of us wish he had skipped. His words may be hard to hear, but they invite us into a way of life that can change both us and the world around us. Come Sunday as we explore what it looks like to love our enemies.

Following last October’s well-attended program with Dr. Ed Shaw on dementia and brain health, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Shaw back for this year’s program, Anchored in Love: Thriving as We Age with a Healthy Brain, Body, and Spirit, which will explore how we can nurture our brain, body, and spirit as we grow older. Whether you are navigating the challenges of aging or simply looking toward the years ahead, this evening will offer practical insights and helpful encouragement that will benefit us at any age.
