ALICE is an acronym that stands for an acronym for asset limited, income constrained, employed. This is used to describe working families who live above the federal poverty level, don’t qualify for many assistance programs, but still do not make enough money to afford basic needs. A recent study found that 1 in 4 North Carolina households find themselves below the ALICE threshold. In North Carolina, a family of four — two adults and two children requiring childcare — needs an annual household income of $79,596 or more to be able to afford basic necessities.
With inflation rising, we recognize that more and more people find themselves in this difficult spot every day. Let’s be praying for abundance for all God’s people, and that we will be generous with what we have so that all can flourish.

What a great day we are going to have tomorrow at church! Pastor Emily is bringing us God’s Word, and we would love to have you join us! Our community gathers at 10 AM for a light breakfast, followed by worship at 11, and then our weekly community lunch at noon. This Sunday, our friends at Augsburg Lutheran will be hosting a Trunk or Treat for our community during lunch! Will we see you there?
