Steward Saint: St. Anthony of Padua (1195-1231)
Feast Day: June 13
An Augustinian monk, Anthony intended to go to
northern Africa to preach to the Moors, but illness brought him back to Italy. There he met St. Francis of Assisi, was ordained a priest, and became a Franciscan. A theologian and Scripture scholar, he was also a gentle, persuasive preacher who practiced what he preached and converted many. He famously said "Actions speak louder than words; let your words teach and your actions speak."

Today we celebrate the Sacred Heart of Jesus and recognized one of the many churches in the archdiocese named after the sacred heart. "On the day the church was dedicated, many former members were there. When the bell rang, many of them were crying. We were so happy to have a church, and they were so happy to see it a church again." said Huy Dang, longtime member of the Dayton Vietnamese Catholic Community. Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, a feast that invites us to contemplate the depth of Christ's love for His people. ❤️

His Heart burns with love for the world, offering mercy to the sinner, comfort to the suffering, and hope to all who seek Him. In every joy and every burden, the Heart of Jesus remains open to receive us. 🙏 May His love transform our hearts and draw us ever closer to Him.
