Wilmington First Baptist Church

Wilmington First Baptist Church Living by the Word and Deed the Gospel of Jesus Christ We were the first denomination to have a church building in the Village of Wilmington in 1817.

On April 6, 1853, the church erected a building on the corner of Walnut and Locust Streets to worship and minister in the name and grace of Jesus Christ. The congregation chose the name of First Baptist Church of Wilmington, Ohio. In 1914, church growth presented a need for a larger, more modern building, which resulted in our present structure on the same corner. We are currently trying to turn a

round what was a multi-decade decline in spiritual health and community outreach through the establishment of House Church ministry and a commitment to serve Wilmington.

Please be in prayer for the future of our church! 🙏
If you haven't heard, we have been taking steps in an effort to pursue our current MISSION: "To partner with young people who are passionate about serving the Church & their community."
We realize that because our our church demographics, we have a unique opportunity to invest in the next generation of church leaders still in college. We can do this by giving them the opportunity to serve in critical ministry roles while other churches might not have the needs we have or may overlook the value of college student involvement.
Then, we don't want to just hoard all of those experienced ministry volunteers. We have a bigger vision in mind. Whether those students stay in the area or God calls them elsewhere, they will be equipped and experienced in meeting crucial needs at their next church. Which is why our long-term VISION is: "To strengthen the Church by embracing a culture committed to encouraging, challenging, and equipping healthy servant leaders & sending them out."
We look forward to witness the faithfulness of God at work through this process for our church, and would like anyone who shares this vision or loves working with college students to join us! Feel free to reach out to us through Facebook, our website, or email us.

Forgot to post this earlier this week! This was Sunday's sermon on Ephesians 5:3-14.
If you haven't been watching along, understand that because of how the preaching schedule worked out, we moved our way backwards through chapter 5 of Ephesians and unfortunately weren't able to record Shea's message on Ephesians 5:22-33.
