The Wilmington United Methodist Church

The Wilmington United Methodist Church We are united in love, being and making disciples of Jesus Christ We believe that God is Love.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the human incarnation of God’s love, and through him lives can be transformed and souls can be renewed;
We believe that God’s Holy Spirit empowers us to embody God’s love and share it with others;
We believe that the church is an inclusive community of faith, called to receive and spread the Good News of God’s love, for the transformation of the world.

We believe that serving the cause of Christ is the highest thing we can do and is the path to fully authentic personhood; and
We believe that while the Gospel of God in Christ never changes, our ways of embodying and sharing it are constantly being adapted and shaped for the world and the time in which we live.

Faith isn't meant to stay frozen in time.

Most of us can look back and recognize that our understanding of life, relationships, and the world has changed over the years. Why would faith be any different?

Join us for Pub Theology as we explore how belief grows, deepens, gets challenged, and sometimes takes unexpected turns. We'll talk about doubt, growth, deconstruction, reconstruction, and what it means to keep following God without pretending we have all the answers.

Whether your faith feels stronger than ever, is going through a difficult season, or is still a work in progress, there's a seat for you at the table.

✨May 31 | Renewal Sunday

Something happens when you take a fresh look at what God has placed in your hands.

Join us for Renewal Sunday as we welcome guest preacher Rev. Curnell Graham for a powerful, spirit-filled morning of worship. We’re stepping back, taking another look at our assignment, and asking what God is still calling us to do, right here, right now.

Come ready for energy, honesty, and a word that moves.
Everyone Is Welcome.

Something is coming to Wilmington United Methodist Church this summer…

“Summer of Change” is about fresh starts, renewed hearts, and discovering how small moments can lead to big transformation. Change doesn’t always arrive with fireworks. Sometimes it shows up quietly, one step, one conversation, one act of hope at a time.

Beginning June 7th, we invite you to be part of a summer filled with connection, community, faith, and possibility. New energy. New ideas. New life.

Because with God, change is rarely the end of the story. It’s usually the beginning.

Come join us on “Renewal Sunday” at Wilmington United Methodist Church.

It is an honor to have Rev. Curnell Graham with us from South Carolina as our guest preacher.

Rev. Curnell Graham. A husband, Father, Papa, Son, brother, and pastor. He is currently serving as pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Ladson.

A native of Andrews, South Carolina, Rev. Graham was called to ministry at the age of 15 and soon thereafter began his journey toward ordained ministry. He has been serving as an Elder in the United Methodist Church for close to 40 years.

As a United Methodist pastor, Rev. Graham has served across the country, including churches in Nebraska, Ohio, Michigan, and South Carolina.

What is important for people to know is that he is a man who loves God and God’s People. See less

What makes music sacred?

Is it the lyrics?
The intention?
The emotion?
The artist?
Or does all music carry something deeper because creativity itself is part of being human?

This week at Pub Theology we’re turning up the volume on one of the most personal conversations people of faith can have.

From church hymns to classic rock, protest songs to playlists that got us through heartbreak, we’ll wrestle with the question:
“Is All Music Sacred?”

Guest speaker Timothy Larrick joins us for an honest, thoughtful, and probably slightly chaotic conversation about music, faith, worship, creativity, and why certain songs seem to reach places sermons sometimes can’t.
