Shirat HaNefesh

Shirat HaNefesh is a welcoming independent Jewish community in “close in” Montgomery County.

Seeking an authentic expression of being Jewish, making great music, and forging folks from every background into a genuine, caring community. Shabbat Services Friday evenings at 7pm and Shabbat mornings at 9:30am. First Fridays of the month services begin at 6:30pm with a vegetarian potluck dinner following.

Our next Shabbat Morning Service will be Saturday, May 23, at 10:00 a.m. Rabbah Arlene Berger will lead Shabbat services in person and on Zoom.

We will have an abridged Shabbat service, sing Hallel led by Lisa, read some poetry, chant a bit of the Book of Ruth and then discuss interpreting the Book of Ruth through names. Anyone want to bring some cheesecake for Kiddush?

We will continue our pattern of holding Shabbat morning services on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month.
