What do a nation’s symbols tell us about who belongs, what it values—and what kind of democracy it hopes to be?

Join us for a special conversation with acclaimed Indian musician, activist, author, and public intellectual T.M. Krishna.

In his new book, We, The People of India: Decoding a Nation’s Symbols, Krishna revisits the flag, anthem, emblem, motto, and Preamble to the Constitution—not simply as familiar national symbols, but as ideas shaped by debate, disagreement, aspiration, and competing visions of India.

Together, we will explore the idea of India, music and public life, and what it means to be an artist and citizen in a democracy under strain.

No parade experience required—just bring your smile and your community spirit! Families and friends are welcome.
