Today, we're thanking God for our music director Pat Henry - and wishing her a happy birthday! In addition to faithfully leading our choir and congregation in music on organ, piano, harp, and other musical collaborations, Pat is a caring leader who shares time caring for our garden and rolling up her sleeves with us in service. During the pandemic she (with John's help and many choir voices) recorded all of our music, thoughtfully planning and keeping worship beautifully rich. Not one person is ever forgotten. Each and every person, is loved by God, and known in community by friends or others. In many ways, Georgetown Ministry Center is like an extended family, a real community that uses its "love first" model to be transformative care and service among those in our community experiencing homelessness. Today we were honored to hold a memorial service for the GMC community members (including "Turtle," Michael, Travis, and Arielle), and other loved ones who have died this year or we carry with us.
The GMC community of guests and staff shared beautiful words of care and compassion and memory. We are honored to be a partner with GMC, the location of a GMC drop-in center, and a supporter in ways that we can.
Your support makes a difference, by supporting our church to be able to share in these ways, supporting GMC, and sharing time as we serve together. Join us this Sunday as we make breakfast burritos for our GMC guests!

Happy Fourth of July! As the area's oldest Lutheran congregation and Georgetown's oldest congregation now in our 257th year, it's powerful to consider all the seasons our congregation has been through - take it as a hopeful reminder that God is with us in it all!
We pray for a happy and safe holiday for all. Tomorrow, we'll share this beautiful hymn and hear good news of God's grace (like every Sunday). Thanks to our faithful, serving community who stepped up today to share an abundant meal with those in need (photo thanks to Esben L.).
