☀️ SUN-TESTED FAITH ☀️
Did you know the Greek word for “pure” in Philippians literally means “judged by sunlight”?
In Paul’s day, potters and sculptors who cracked their work would patch the flaws with wax — invisible, until you held it up to the sun. Wax melted. Cracks showed. So honest craftsmen hung a sign on their work: sine cera — “without wax.” That’s where we get the word sincere.
Paul doesn’t want us wax-patched. He wants faith that’s pure all the way through — the kind that holds up in the light.
“...so that you may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ.” (Phil. 1:10-11)

Paul’s gonna FORTIFY the Philippians: writing from a gloomy prison cell, in CHAINS, as he awaited his imminent death, Paul EXULTED and exhorted: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice. ” (4:4) 
He says, “I rejoice in the Lord greatly… [and] I’ve learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need… in whatever situation I’m in, I know how to be content,” to be JOYFUL (4:10-12). 

Friends, don’t you WANT that? Don’t you WANT the power to praise God from a prison, to exult in the E.R., to rejoice in the wreckage and SING through your suffering? 

Paul wants it for you too; GOD wants it for you. Just as He wanted it for the church in Philippi. That’s why He inspired Paul to pen this epistle - this LETTER - to them, and FOR US.

Throwback to VBS two weeks ago!

We had 156 kids come and explore the nature of God! We also had 76 families represented, 26 of which do not attend our church! 10 kids stated that they are ready to follow Jesus! Praise the Lord! 🙌
