In loving memory of Rev. Elmer B. Schiefer (Jan. 21, 1926 – May 17, 2026). A faithful servant of Christ, he devoted his life to pastoral ministry, preaching God’s Word, and shepherding congregations across The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in Canada, Michigan, and Missouri for over 75 years of service.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family, and is reunited in glory with his beloved wife, Bernice (Bea), and other cherished family members who went before him.

Visitation: Friday, June 5, 4–7 p.m.
The Revolution Church, Columbia, MO

A private committal service will be held at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Richville, Mich.

Please keep the Schiefer family and friends in your prayers. Read more: https://mo.lcms.org/rev-elmer-b-schiefer/

On this Memorial Day, we remember with gratitude those who have died in service and honor their sacrifice with reverence. “If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord” (Rom. 14:8, ESV). We entrust all who have died—and all who mourn—to God’s gracious care.
