We're kicking off a new summer series, "Wiser with Jesus," learning how to live IN the world but not OF it. True wisdom isn't just knowledge—it's knowing how to do the right thing, in the right way, at the right time, for the right reason. Jesus tells us in John 15 that He is the true vine, and we are the branches. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. But connected to Him? We bear fruit that blesses the world.
The world offers counterfeit wisdom that looks good but poisons our souls. Political outrage, radical autonomy, and endless self-focus promise freedom but deliver isolation. Only by abiding in Jesus—the source of true wisdom—can we love God and others well.

Join us this summer as we grow wiser with Jesus, learning to navigate relationships, decisions, and life's challenges with godly wisdom.

We all know the saying "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me" – but is that really true? Words have incredible power to build up or tear down, to unite or divide.

This Sunday, we tackled a topic we rarely confess but all struggle with: gossip. It's not just what we say about others behind their backs – it's also what we choose to listen to. Proverbs reminds us that "the words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels" – gossip tastes good, feeds our pride, and makes us feel special. But it destroys relationships and grieves the Holy Spirit.

Here's the gospel truth: God knows every hidden thing about us, yet in Christ, He doesn't expose us to shame – He covers us with grace. Jesus was publicly shamed so we could be fully forgiven. When that mercy grips your heart, it changes how you speak about others. People covered by mercy stop delighting in exposing others.

Let your words build up, not tear down. As Ephesians 4:29 says, speak only what gives grace to those who hear.

Don't waste your life. This past Sunday, we explored Jesus' sobering parable in Luke 16 about a rich man who had everything but used it only for himself while Lazarus suffered outside his gate. The rich man squandered his wealth, his status, and ultimately his life by refusing to be who God created him to be.

Here's the truth: God blesses us not so we can hoard it, but so we can be a blessing to others. Jesus, the ultimate "rich man," emptied Himself completely for us (Philippians 2). Because of His sacrifice, we have wealth that can't evaporate and status that can't be stripped away. We're called to open our hands and pour out our lives for others while we still can.

The warning is clear: there will come a point when it's too late. But today isn't that day. Receive God's blessing with gratitude, then turn around and share it lavishly with the world around you.

🍎 Healing Hands & Shaping Minds 🩺

This week, we are double-dipping on gratitude! We’re pausing to celebrate two groups of people who make the world a whole lot brighter (and smarter): our Teachers (May 4–8) and our Nurses (May 6–12).

To our educators: thank you for your patience and for nurturing the minds of the next generation.

To our nurses: thank you for your grit, your compassion, and for being a calm port in the storm.

Beyond the lesson plans and the long shifts, we see the heart behind the hustle. Thank you for serving God through your Kingdom work—teaching the truth and healing the weary across the earth.

What if the money in your wallet isn't really yours? What if it's a tool God has placed in your hands for a greater purpose?

This week we explored one of Jesus' most challenging parables in Luke 16—the story of the dishonest manager. The lesson? Don't waste God's wealth. Use it. We're blessed not to hoard, but to be a blessing to others. From Genesis to the Gospel, God's pattern is clear: He gives generously so we can give generously.

Remember: "Though Jesus was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich" (2 Corinthians 8:9). That's the heart of generosity we're called to reflect.
