Surrender can feel uncomfortable, especially when it involves God, other people, our circumstances, and our own will. In our culture, surrender is often seen as weakness or defeat.

But in the Kingdom of God, surrender is not losing—it’s obedience. It's strength. It’s righteous.

Why do I need to submit?
And when is it actually okay not to submit?

Today, the heart motive and biblical lifestyle of submission in marriage are deeply misunderstood and, sadly, often abused. Secular culture treats the word like a curse. Religious tradition has at times twisted it into husbands dominating their wives, expecting blind compliance, whether she agrees or not. If you’re a Christian—single or married—understanding submission based on what the Bible really says is crucial.

Another wildly successful Serve Day at Rock Church Soulard! 🙌

A huge THANK YOU to every volunteer who showed up ready to serve. Together, we moved chairs to the balcony and cleared and cleaned rooms on the second floor to prepare for our upcoming Homeless Outreach Ministry.

What may seem like simple tasks today are helping create a space where lives can be impacted tomorrow. Every hour served and every helping hand brings us one step closer to fulfilling the mission God has placed before us.

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus and for helping us make room for ministry! ❤️

What a transformative Sunday at Rock Church Soulard! ❤️

Week 3 of Kingdom Surrender continued to challenge, encourage, and inspire us as we explored what it truly means to surrender every area of our lives to God—including our marriages. The ongoing conversations around Kingdom Marriage remind us that when we place God at the center, He transforms not only our relationships but our hearts as well.

Every part of the day reflected the beauty of a community pursuing God's Kingdom together. One of the greatest gifts of our church community is knowing we don't walk this journey alone. We learn together, grow together, serve together, and encourage one another as we surrender more fully to God's purpose for our lives.
