Congrats to LCMS Chaplain Joe Seifert who was promoted to Lieutenant Commander in Okinawa. He wrote on the day of the ceremony, "Thankful to God and for all who have supported me in my calling as a Navy Chaplain. Today my family and I celebrated a special milestone as I pinned on LCDR."

As we approach the 25th anniversary of the horrific 9/11 attacks on our nation, consider sharing this prayer with your pastor to use in the Prayers of the Church this Sunday. 🙏

"Lord of all nations, God of all peoples, we praise You for answering the prayers of Your people as we sought Your mercy and protection following the events of September 11, 2001. Your providence and care have given to us daily bread and protection from enemies. Let us ever trust Your mercy even as enemies continue to threaten our peace. Bring comfort through Your Word to those whose hearts are heavy on this anniversary, may they find their hope in Your Son’s victory over evil and the grave. Turn all our hearts to Jesus, who is our life and our salvation, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen."

The Chaplain Alliance has reviewed the Military Chaplains Modernization Act and has stated "the Act strengthens religious freedom for all." We invite you to learn about the Act and how it will promote religious freedom for all Chaplains and service members.

Congrats to our newest LCMS Army Chaplains, Chaplain Nick Price and Chaplain Aidan Moon. This week they graduated from Army Chaplain School with their wives, Ministry to the Armed Forces Director Chaplain Muehler, and others there to support them. Chaplain Price will return to his parish and serve in the Illinois National Guard. Chaplain Moon will report to the new unit at Fort Drum, NY. May God bless them and their families on this new vocation!

LCMS Chaplain Shawn Hazel teaches spiritual readiness at the Naval Chaplaincy School in Rhode Island. Having LCMS Chaplains at all levels of the military and throughout the world is a blessing both for our service members and our Synod!
