Today we honor the sacrifices of the men who landed on the beaches of Normandy on this date in 1944. D-Day was the largest seaborne invasion in military history.

“Peace is not sought in order to provoke war, but war is waged in order to attain peace. Be a peacemaker, then, even by fighting, so that through your victory you might bring those whom you defeat to the advantages of peace. ‘Blessed are the peacemakers,’ says the Lord, ‘for they will be called children of God’ (St. Mt 5:9).” - St. Augustine

God's richest blessings to LCMS Chaplain Gregory Todd as he retires from 40 years of serving Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen. Chaplain Todd served as the Navy Chief of Chaplains for the last four years, overseeing the spiritual care for millions of military members and family members. His leadership will be felt for years to come. We thank Chaplain Todd and his family for their sacrifices and may our Risen Lord bless him in his retirement.
