Our Youth Summer Program runs July 1 – August 13, Mon–Thurs 10am–2:30pm. Kids ages 5–17 spend their days building Quran, deepening their faith, and making real friendships.

Yawm Arafah, the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, is the most beloved day of the year to Allah. While the Hujjaj stand on the plain of Arafah, those not on Hajj are encouraged to fast. The Prophet ﷺ said fasting this day expiates the sins of the previous and coming year. It is also the day Allah سبحانه وتعالى descends to the lowest heaven, showing mercy and freeing more of His servants from the Fire than any other day.

Fast it. Make du’a. Then join us at sunset to break your fast with your community.

Join us this Saturday for Maternal Wellbeing: Body, Mind & Faith, a community conversation exploring what it really means to care for yourself as a mother, through the lens of our faith and culture.

We’ll talk about what maternal mental health actually looks like, what Islam and our traditions say about caring for the whole self, and what we can do together to support the mothers in our community.

Introducing Blooming Hearts 🌷 — OBK Islamic Center’s new program supporting Muslim parents and caregivers through pregnancy, postpartum, and the early years of raising young children.

Rooted in Islamic values, Blooming Hearts offers:
💛 Bi-weekly 1-hour counseling sessions with our certified counselor, Samira Omar, MSW, LICSW ($50/session — no one turned away for financial reasons)
💙 Monthly parenting wellness workshops covering topics like managing parenting anxiety, nurturing environments for infants and toddlers, and cognitive development

Light refreshments provided. Childcare and transportation support occasionally available.

We’re continuing Surah Taha with verses 9-24, where Allah سبحانه وتعالى’s call to Prophet Musa (AS) begins and everything he thought he knew is about to change. These verses carry some of the most awe-inspiring moments in the entire Quran, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and a shepherd leaves as something far greater.
