06/24/2026

As we continue through this sacred month, we humbly remind ourselves of the blessed fasting days ahead:

- Wednesday, June 24th - 9th Muharram (recommended to accompany Ashura)
- Thursday, June 25th - Day of Ashura
- Friday, June 26th - 11th Muharram (for those who cannot fast the 9th)

Our beloved Prophet ﷺ prioritized the fast of Ashura, teaching us that it brings Allah’s forgiveness for the previous year’s sins. It commemorates the day Allah granted victory to Prophet Musa (AS) over Pharaoh’s tyranny.

The Prophet ﷺ recommended pairing Ashura with either the 9th or 11th to differ from the Jewish practice of fasting only the 10th. May we embrace these blessed days with sincere hearts. May Allah grant us strength and accept our efforts. Ameen.

Al-Nawawī described these forty hadith as the texts the whole religion turns upon, and generations of scholars have written commentaries trying to do them justice.

We’re beginning that journey this summer with Al-Wāfī, reading it alongside Imam Abdullahi Jaranow. This first part runs July through October, moving carefully through the early hadith, with more to follow.

Come build the foundation. In-person and online (YouTube livestream).
