Candlelight Vigil
Community Event

Friday, June 5, 2026 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM PT

As part of Seven Day in June: Health is Primary, we’re participating in a candlelight vigil to lift up the concerns related to HIV, LGBTQ+, and public health funding cuts that will affect all in our communities in the coming years. Join MCC San Francisco as we recognize the leadership that San Francisco has played in building up successful models of HIV prevention and care, call to protect the legacy of these investments, honor the memory of those we have lost to HIV and AIDS, and celebrate the many long-term HIV survivors and other leaders that push our movement forward. Join MCC San Francisco this Sunday, June 7 at 9 AM as we joyfully kick off our Pride Month worship series, Sacred Resistance: Faith in Action, we are coming together to dismantle the lie that we are broken and stand side-by-side to claim our divine wholeness through Resistance in Healing.

Our worship this week beautifully reflects this journey of inner and outer restoration. We will ground ourselves in scripture with Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26, exploring how Jesus boldly broke social taboos to offer healing, paired with the moving poem "give yourself a self" by metal femme.

We are also thrilled to introduce a new element to our liturgy: just before our Community Prayer, Wendy Tobias will be offering our very first one-minute "Resistance in Action Moment," sharing a snapshot of how faith is moving practically in our city.

Join us in person or via Zoom. MCC San Francisco is located at Trinity-St. Peter's Episcopal Church in St. Mary's Chapel at 1620 Gough St. (at Bush) San Francisco, CA 94109

In a world that often devalues q***r bodies, claiming your wholeness is a radical act. This Sunday, June 7, at 9 AM we kick off our Sacred Resistance: Faith in Action series by resisting the lie that we are broken.

Just as Jesus broke social taboos to restore those on the margins, we gather to celebrate a love that breaks every barrier. Your identity is holy. Your body is sacred. Come heal with us.

Join us in person or via Zoom. MCC San Francisco is located at Trinity-St. Peter's Episcopal Church in St. Mary's Chapel at 1620 Gough St. (at Bush) San Francisco, CA 94109
