Yesterday looked a little different at Laurel Heights. 💛

With no power or AC following the weekend storms, our church family still gathered for a stripped-down time of worship before heading outside to help with cleanup around our church property.

We’re grateful for everyone who showed up ready to worship, serve, and care for our church community. 🙏

⚠️ IMPORTANT WORSHIP UPDATE — SUNDAY, AUGUST 30

Due to storm damage and a power outage at Laurel Heights, we will have ONE worship service tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

The service will be shortened, and afterward we will transition into a service day helping clean up around the church property and offering help to our neighbors who have trees/limbs down.

A few things to know:
• The church is currently without power and air conditioning. Please dress comfortably for the heat.

• If you plan to stay and help, bring work gloves, tools, trash bags, push brooms, or other cleanup supplies if you have them.

• The elevator will most likely not be operating.

• Our Fifth Sunday Potluck will be rescheduled.( HOWEVER, if you would like to bring cookies etc. for those who are willing to help stay and serve, that would be great!)

• Sandwiches trays, chips, and water will be available for those participating in the workday.

Please help us spread the word, especially to those who may be without power and unable to receive emails or see our virtual updates.

We’ll gather tomorrow ready to worship and serve. ❤️

Our featured parent session, De-escalation with Dignity, will offer practical, encouraging tools for parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, and anyone who works with children.
