Join Us for Divine Mercy Sunday Service, April 12, 2026 at 3:00 PM

To receive the Divine Mercy indulgence, you must go to confession, receive Holy Communion, pray for the intentions of the Pope, and venerate the Divine Mercy image.

Requirements for the Divine Mercy Indulgence

1. Sacramental Confession: You can go to confession on Divine Mercy Sunday or within 20 days before or after the feast. This ensures you are in a state of grace.
2. Holy Communion: You must receive Holy Communion on Divine Mercy Sunday. It is essential to be in a state of grace when receiving the Eucharist.
3. Pray for the Intentions of the Pope: This can be done by offering a prayer such as an “Our Father” or “Hail Mary” for the Pope’s intention.
4. Venerate the Divine Mercy Image: This involves showing reverence to an image of Divine Mercy, which can be done during the Divine Mercy service or privately.

• The requirements for the indulgence can be fulfilled ahead of time or overtime, as long as they are completed within the specified timeframe.
It is encouraged to perform acts of mercy and trust in God's mercy during this time, as emphasized by St. Faustina.

By fulfilling these requirements, you can obtain the plenary indulgence associated with Divine Mercy Sunday, which offers complete remission of sins and punishment for those who participate sincerely.

HELP YOUR PARISH CHANGE LIVES!

WHAT IS THE APPEAL?

Since 1986, the Archbishop’s Appeal for Ministries has rallied area Catholics to support the mission of the Church. Archbishop Gustavo’s priorities and goals are to provide financial resources that will sustain and expand the broad range of ministries that
serve our community spiritually, materially, and educationally.

Together we . . .
• Support over 30 ministries that serve a wide
community
• Provide and expand Catholic Education and
Formation
• Strengthen social services
• Support clergy and future leaders
• Advance Catholic communications and
evangelization

On behalf of Archbishop Gustavo, Bishop Gary, and Bishop Arturo . . . THANK YOU!

APPEAL PRAYER

Heavenly Father,
You call us to be Courageous in Christ —to encounter Your Son in every person, to unite as one family of faith, and to serve one another with love. Grant us the courage to open our hearts to the poor, the sick, the imprisoned, and the forgotten. Strengthen us to walk together as Your Church, building up the kingdom here in our archdiocese, and proclaiming the Gospel with joy. Bless the generous hearts who support the mission of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. May their gifts be multiplied in grace, bringing hope to families, healing to the broken, and light to those in darkness. Lord, make us steadfast in faith, bold in charity, and joyful in service. May we always live as disciples who are Courageous in Christ, trusting that Your Spirit guides us, and Your love sustains us. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Holy Week

"Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!" “Peace in Heaven and Glory in the Highest! Shout the crowds in the Gospel.

Luke 19:38

(19:38) Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord: only in Luke is Jesus explicitly given the title king when he enters Jerusalem in triumph. Luke has inserted this title into the words of Ps 118:26 that heralded the arrival of the pilgrims coming to the holy city and to the temple. Jesus is thereby acclaimed as king (see Lk 1:32) and as the one who comes (see Mal 3:1; Lk 7:19). Peace in heaven…: the acclamation of the disciples of Jesus in Luke echoes the announcement of the angels at the birth of Jesus (Lk 2:14). The peace Jesus brings is associated with the salvation to be accomplished here in Jerusalem.

May we be always ready to share our blessings when we are sent in His name!
