Human cases are rare, but residents should take precautions:
• Check pets and livestock for wounds.
• Clean and cover open wounds.

Today we begin the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, joining Catholics across our nation in nine days of prayer leading up to Thursday, June 11, when U.S. Bishops (including our own Archbishop Joe S. Vásquez and Auxiliary Bishop Italo Dell'Oro, CRS) will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Each day, we will share a new prayer and reflection as we entrust ourselves, our families, our parish, and our country to the loving Heart of Christ.
