From Father Chris
Dear Parishioners of Blessed Sacrament,
We are living in interesting and difficult times, as Charles Dickens said in A Tale of Two Cities, “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” We have been faced with many challenges we never thought imaginable but are learning new ways to do things we once took for granted. One of the many things I took for granted was gathering with our community in faith every Sunday and weekday at Mass. As we have had to adjust to the continually changing policies of national, state and local organizations in our ability to gather as community, I have been faced with having to readjust what community meant in terms of faith and keeping our parish united in their faith and to know we are still here and God is with us!
We have been looking for the best way to deliver the Sunday and daily Masses to the Blessed Sacrament Community with what we have available to us. We began by Live-Streaming Sunday Masses through Facebook Live and had over 400 people actively participating. We understand that not everyone has Facebook and we are in the process of exploring other methods of livestreaming the masses. Livestreaming to me is important to maintain a semblance of community participation. These methods will change as we fine tune what works. We are regularly updating the parish website with information to help you find information as it comes out and changes, so please check regularly.
Thank you all for your faith and understanding as we try to navigate through these uncharted waters. I also wanted to thank those that have been able to give their weekly offering, whether it be through online giving or dropping it off at the parish office mail slot. It is appreciated and much needed in these difficult times. You can also ask for or offer your prayers online with the link provided on the parish website.
You all continue in mine and Fr. Inna’s prayers, for your health, safety and health.
