WHO WE ARE

Unity of Sacramento is a thriving, trans denomination, intercultural, int

erfaith, spiritual community of love. We welcome all people irrespective of race, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation, or political affiliation. We honor all paths to God and practice the ancient universal spiritual principles, handed down through the ages and best exemplified through the life and example of our Way Shower, Jesus the Christ. We emphasize a metaphysical approach to scripture and strive to bring practical application from ancient wisdom found in the Bible and other sacred texts. We believe in the power of prayer and spiritual healing. Our spiritual community is recognized for its outstanding spiritual teachings, conscious expanding meditations, world-class music, and powerful prayer ministries, Unity of Sacramento serves more than 600 congregants through a variety of activities, and outreach ministries taking place on its campus. Kevin Kitrell Ross, a Chicago native, Morehouse College graduate and ordained Unity minister, is the Senior Minister and Spiritual Director of Unity of Sacramento who is committed to inspiring his community to live lives of purpose, passion, peace and prosperity and to be a "force for good in the world." In accordance with the first principle of Unity as taught by co-founders Myrtle and Charles Fillmore, Unity of Sacramento believes that there is only one power and presence of God, and that God loves each one of us equally. We, therefore, honor the many names for God, the many paths to God, and the many ways to worship God. There are no requirements to attend Unity of Sacramento other than to know God and to understand, love, and accept His law of being. Unity leaves you wholly free to live your life according to the inspiration and guidance of the spirit of truth within you. We offer Membership classes quarterly to become a Member. OUR HISTORY

The history of Unity of Sacramento goes back more than a century to a home at 1415 L Street where a small group of “truth seekers” met in 1907 to lay the groundwork for what today is one of the largest Unity centers in the western United States. During its years of growth, Unity of Sacramento was located in a house, a hall, a theater, a bowling alley and a grocery store, proving that a church is not the building, but the spirit and love of the people within. Incorporated on May 16, 1948, members of Unity of Sacramento first met as a church in the Crest Theater in downtown Sacramento. Today we are located in a beautifully renovated building (that was once a grocery store) at 9249 Folsom Boulevard, one block east of La Riviera, in Sacramento.

What happens when someone hurts you deeply? Do you hold on to the pain, or do you choose to let it go?

In this powerful message, Rev. Kevin shared a personal experience that demonstrated the true power of forgiveness—how choosing to forgive can lift the weight of resentment, release your heart, and make room for healing.

Forgiveness doesn’t erase what happened, but it frees you from carrying it. As Scripture reminds us, “Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

🎥 Watch this powerful excerpt from “Forgive Again: You Did It, Admit It” and be blessed.

"Forgiveness is the instant weight-loss secret." ✨ Not the kind you're thinking of — the kind that lifts what resentment and unforgiveness have been weighing on your soul. In this powerful moment from our sermon on Forgiveness, we explore how letting go isn't about the other person — it's about freeing yourself. Watch, and feel lighter.
