As we’ve been walking through the story of Joseph and talking about what it looks like to faithfully serve wherever God has placed us, we couldn’t help but think of Mr. Ricky.

Mr. Ricky is one of those people who simply sees a need and meets it. No announcement. No recognition. No desire for anyone to notice. He just serves.

Several months ago, he noticed that after worship each Sunday, our Praise Team didn’t really have a designated place backstage to store their microphones and in-ear packs. No one asked him to fix it. No one even mentioned it to him. He just noticed.

So Mr. Ricky decided to custom build a storage space for our team. And this week, we caught him outside working on it…quietly serving, just like he always does.

This is what a servant heart looks like.

Sometimes serving looks like standing on a stage. But so often, it looks like a man outside the church with a piece of wood and some tools, meeting a need most people never even knew existed.

Mr. Ricky, thank you for reminding us that no act of service is insignificant when it’s done for the glory of God. We are so thankful for you and for the countless ways you love and serve tChurch.

We had the BEST time kicking off the school year with our Hening Elementary family! 🎒📚💙 Thank you to everyone who came out to our Back to School Bash and helped make it such a special day. We’re so grateful for every opportunity to love on our community and pray over our students, teachers, and families as they head into a new school year! 🙏✨
