Week 7: The Father of Faith
In addressing the Jewish reliance on works of the law, Paul appeals to Abraham (the father of Judaism) to prove how even he was saved by faith and not by the law. Therefore he is the father of faith, not works.
If we wish to have righteousness counted to us like him, then we need to believe the gospel instead of trusting in our own abilities to be or do the right thing.
