Happy National Donut Day! šŸ© . . . As if we need a reason to celebrate America's unofficial favorite food! šŸ˜‰

Are you a lover of jelly-filled donuts? Boston creams? Apple fritters? How about bear claws? Maple bars? Chocolate with sprinkles?

We're in the opinion of "mo' donuts, mo' betta" regardless of flavor šŸ©šŸ©šŸ© Let us know if you agree!! 😁

More than ever, the DHS vision of "reverse migration" is a reality. Faith groups south of the border told Sojourners how they're changing to meet new needs.

The fairy tale reveals a truly nonsexist world, because we are all, male and female, both the younger son and the true princess—as well as the monster we’d rather not recognize.

Martin Luther’s sister, whose name was probably Margarete, and her husband George Kaufmann both died young, leaving behind six children. Those children moved into the Black Cloister with Martin and Katie. Martin mentions the oldest child, named George after his father, in his 1534 will. It seems that young George was listed to represent his siblings in Martin’s estate.

George became a student at the University of Wittenberg. At one point, he and his friends had gone out for a drinking party and came back making so much noise that Martin said to him angrily, ā€œDrink so that misfortune can come upon you!ā€ After he calmed down a little he is reported to have said, ā€œThese people will not live to be old. Most people ruin themselves by their craze for drunkenness.ā€

We don’t know what later became of George. Hopefully he listened to his uncle.

The painting of 16th century tavern patrons is by Pieter Brueghel the Younger.
