Work. Rest. Play. Is your life balanced?

Join us for worship at Southminster this Sunday, September 6, as the Rev. Dr. Cathie Smith continues her sermon series titled “Life in Balance” with a message on “Work, Rest, and Play.” This sermon is based on Exodus 31:12–17. Together, we will reflect on God’s gift of Sabbath and explore how to create a healthier rhythm between our work, the rest we need, and the joy that renews us. We will also be celebrating the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. We hope to see you!

What is costly discipleship?

Looking for a fun way for your child to make music, make friends, and make a joyful noise? 🔔🎶

Southminster’s Youth Handbell Team is starting up on Tuesday, September 15! The group is open to 3rd–8th graders who are interested in learning a new instrument and being part of a fun, welcoming group.

Rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays from 5:00–5:45 p.m., before Youth Group.

We’re excited for another year of faith, friendship, and fun! 💙If your child is joining Sunday School, please complete a registration form before our September 13th Kickoff. All Pre-K–12th grade students need a form on file. Forms are available next to the praise bags or on our website: https://www.spchurch.org/youth/childrens-ministry/. What does a balanced life of faith look like?

🔑 Keys to the Kingdom was quite an adventure! 🔑

Our children searched throughout the church for seven special keys: Kindness, Forgiveness, Prayer, God’s Word, Helping, Teamwork, and Faith. At each stop, they completed two challenges to earn their next clue.

After collecting all seven keys, one final clue led them to Fellowship Hall, where they worked together to unlock the treasure chest! 🎉
Along the way, we learned that these seven “keys” help us keep God in our daily lives and show others what it means to be a child of God.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the scavenger hunt! A special thanks to the volunteers and Southminster's Director of Children and Pr***en Ministries, Ms. Brooke Minnick, who made this event possible! 💙🔑
