🍂🎃 Fall Fun at Southminster! 🎃🍁

Our Pre-K through 5th grade Sunday School children had a blast celebrating fall together! The morning was filled with fun games, fall crafts, pumpkin toss, guessing games, and lots of laughter! 👻🍁

During children's pull-out class, we learned how Jesus fed 5,000 people with just five loaves and two fish! 🐟🍞 The children also explored ways they can share with others and spread kindness throughout the week.

❤️ There's always something fun happening in Children's Ministry at Southminster! Come join us as we learn, grow in faith, and make wonderful memories together!

What if what we have to offer is more than we think?

In Sunday's sermon, “At the Table: Pass the Baskets,” the Rev. Dr. Cathie Smith reminds us that Jesus doesn't ask us to have all the answers or unlimited resources. He asks us to offer what we have and trust him with what comes next.

But there's something else at the heart of this story. Mark tells us that Jesus looked upon the hungry crowd with compassion. And it is with that same compassion that we are called to share what God has blessed us with.

A little can become so much more when placed in God's hands.

Tuesday Night Live was a blast! 🎶🍽️

We enjoyed a delicious retro dinner of old-fashioned meatloaf, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and carrot cake, followed by a fantastic Oldies Concert from the Crossings Band—the music was so entertaining that they called them back for an encore!

Something spooky is coming to Southminster this Saturday… 🎃🎶

Join us for our Spooky Organ Concert on Saturday, October 24 at 11:00 a.m., featuring Lucas Barkley on organ and piano.

This fun concert is for all ages, free to attend, and encourages Halloween costumes. A reception will follow.

A flashlight can’t shine if we never turn it on. 🔦

That simple lesson from this morning’s children’s message captured the heart of Mission Sunday at Southminster. Our children put their faith into action by packing winter kits for neighbors in need, while we celebrated throughout worship the many ways Southminster is answering God’s call to love and serve others.

As we left worship, Rev. Dr. Cathie Smith sent us out to share our bread, welcome the stranger, care for those who struggle, and bear Christ’s light and love.

May we keep turning on the light — and letting it shine. ✨

The men of Southminster Presbyterian Church enjoyed a wonderful weekend of fellowship, meaningful conversation, and relaxation at Windy Ridge in Greene County.

Their time together provided a welcome opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life, strengthen friendships, reflect on their faith, and enjoy the beauty of the countryside.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this retreat possible. We are grateful for the opportunity to come together, deepen our connections, and grow as a community of faith.
