There is one True Christ, many false christs, and one counterfeit christ (1 John 1:18).

Those who trust and confess the True Christ are
• forgiven (1 John 2:12, John 3:18a)
• sealed (Eph 1:13-14, Ezk 9:1-11)
• confessed before the Father (Matt 10:32)
• filled with righteousness (Matt 5:6)
• know peace, quietness, and assurance (Is 32:17)
• have stability and salvation (Is 33:5-6, 17)

Those who trust and confess the false christs and the counterfeit christ are
• condemned (John 3:18b)
• sealed (Rev 13:11-18)
• denied before the Father (Matt 10:33)
• empty of righteousness (Is 32:6)
• know distress and perplexity (Luke 21:25-26)
• are suddenly destroyed (1 Thes 5:1-3, Rev 19:19-20)

Find the book of the Lord and read (Is 34:16a). Then choose whom you will follow and serve (Joshua 24:15).

All the spiritual realm (angels and demons) knows who Jesus is (Luke 4:33-34, 41; Mark 5:1-9). But few in the physical/material realm do (Matt 7:13-14; John 9:1, 25, 35-39) because faith is required (Heb 11:1; 2 Cor 5:7; Matt 9:27-30a; Mark 10:46-52).

Those who have eyes generally believe what they see. But how sight blinds (John 9:18, 40-41; John 11:47-50; John 12:35-40; Acts 4:13-18) because unbelief “eclipses” their sight! Those who truly see believe what the Word of God says.

God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). God cannot be what He is not. Darkness is the absence of light. God cannot be absent of Himself.

Light is Life and darkness is death. Death is His last enemy to be put under His feet and destroyed, at which point God will be all in all (1 Cor 15:25-28). This glorious event will happen at the end of King Jesus’ Millennial Reign when death and hell will be cast into the lake of fire; this is the second death (Rev 20:14), followed by His creation of a sin-free universe, a new heaven and new earth in which God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away (Rev 21:4).

Who is “their”? The children of light (John 12:36, Eph 5:8, 1 Thes 5:5).

As recorded in 2 Kings 4:38-41, at one point in the ministry of Elisha there was a famine in the land. He was sitting with the sons of the prophets when he told his servant to prepare some soup for them. One of the company, with good intentions, went out into the field and collected gourds from a wild vine, which were shredded and added to the soup. The result: “Death is in the pot!”

Whether we liken the pot to our own lives or to the world, the fruit (sin/unbelief and all of its manifestations of unrighteousness) of a wild vine (religion, philosophy, science falsely called so, traditions of men, etc) yields death.

Lessons:
1. Stay away from wild vines and abide in the True Vine! (John 15:1-8, John 14:6)
2. Death has claimed many people with good intentions yet in whom there is no good thing (Rom 3:9-12, Rom 3:23, Rom 7:18)

Solution: Add the meal of the Bread of Life to the foul soup in the pot!
